The Ultimate Live Jazz Dinner Experience
The only PLACE you want to be!
OFFICIAL UPDATE – The Rhapsody Jazz Café
We are in the process of finalizing the deal for our new location on North Parkway!
There is about a 45-day build-out time once work begins.
After considering the main vision and mission for Rhapsody, it is the right move: to bring our business to North Huntsville.
I want to take this time to thank everyone that supported and continues to support our Pre-Grand Opening events. We have months of performances booked and we will go forward with bringing them to you and the Huntsville community while our venue is being renovated. The shows will be held at the Marriott at the Space and Rocket Center.
Rhapsody’s goal is to be a prime example of an economic engine for North Huntsville, bringing in jazz fans from all over the world. We are giving back: 1.) To our District 1 Schools with $1 of every ticket sales going to our schools to assist in excelling education,
2.) Once a month, we will host a free Community Dinner for different groups, while highlighting local excelling students, and entrepreneurs, and 3.) Partner with 'Jazz in the Park' to continue to make it a success.
WELCOME TO The RHAPSODY
The Making of Rhapsody
The best memories I had while growing up was cleaning up the house on Saturday mornings to music with my mom, dad and brother! I grew up with Marvin Gaye, OJays, Temptations, Nancy Wilson , etc. Then when Hip Hop came about one Christmas, Santa brought me a little stereo record player with my first set of LP's including Sugar Hill Gang, John Coultrane and Billie Holiday. I consider my self 'Brown Sugar with a touch of Mahogany', especially the Movie Brown Sugar (someone stole my inner thoughts on that movie)because I knew HipHop and Jazz. Oh and then the summer nights- laying in bed with my windows up and WEUP playing all my favorite songs. Mom didn't allow date nights until my high school graduation, therefore, I dreamed I was at the parties listening to music. In my middle school days, I grew to appreciate jazz from choir at Davis Hills Middle School . I love food and I forgot to mention IHOP was our treat after cleaning on Saturdays. Therefore, I dreamed of owning my own Live Jazz Restuarant! Of course, our parents reinforced us getting an 8 to 5 career with insurance. So my dream was delayed but never forgotten! After being obedient to my parents, my schooling, and helping my clients grow their businesses, it was time for me to live my dream! I knew I wanted to leave a legacy as well as give back to my community!
Why the name Rhapsody -it’s an effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling. ~ Dr. Deidra
